Returning to the Sanctuary
Rev. William Bills
June 9, 2021
I am happy to remind you that you are invited to worship on Sunday in the sanctuary at 10:00 a.m. Remember to observe the six foot social distancing rule. Families may sit together but there should be six feet spacing between family groups. We will have open pews designated. Don’t forget to wear your facemask! Please enter the sanctuary through the center aisle and depart via the side aisles when the service is over. Offering baskets will be placed on the window sills. If you would like to make an offering please place it in the basket as you exit the sanctuary. Coffee will be served in the Memorial Garden.
If you choose to remain at home this week and watch online you will see a service recorded from this time last year. I am sorry to have to show a re-run, but after all, it is summer! But seriously folks… we have not, as of this writing, received our new sound mixing board. It should arrive any time but it has been on back order for a while. We also decided that we need to upgrade our modem to 5G. Comcast cannot do that for us until Monday. Therefore I have decided to re-broadcast a previously aired service for those watching at home this week rather than take a chance on having you watch something that may be stopping and starting over and over.
For those who plan to attend at the church on Sunday, there will be a number of greeters at church to help you get back in the groove. If you forget your mask just look for me and I will make sure you get one as we do have extras here at church. See you Sunday!
At University United Methodist Church, we affirm that as disciples of Jesus Christ, we are an open and inclusive congregation and welcome all persons into full participation regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic situation, age, ability, education, background and whether single or partnered.
