Raising $15,000 in March

The Gathering Space, Welcoming Area, and Garden Space are well used. Each Sunday, all areas of seating are busy. We accommodate families with small children, those cautious of Covid, those dealing with the events at MSU, people who can’t sit in a pew due to physical limitations, REACH band members, security, and late-comers. In addition, we host many guests, including the Steiner Chorale, Ten Pound Fiddle, funeral visitations, and many others. When you enter the church, these spaces are your introduction to UUMC. Currently, the furnishings are a collection of odds and ends in various levels of sturdiness.

Our VISION:

Celebrate who we are — our past, present, and future —
with furniture that accommodates each of us, from young families to seniors.

Our committee will invest in furniture that fits the style of our building, is comfortable for all, coordinates and elevates the areas, and has a longevity to take us into the future.

We are targeting the month of March to raise $15,000 to outfit the Gathering, Welcoming, and Garden spaces of our church home.

Donations may be made by cash, check, or Venmo (@UUMCDonations). Please identify “Furniture Fund” on the memo line.

We have $2,000 in lead gifts to kick off our efforts. Our efforts are focused on the month of March so we can make purchases and have them in place by May. Existing furnishings will be repurposed in the building or donated to our community partners.
