Sunday, October 14
It’s CROP Walk time again — with some exciting changes! UUMC will again participate in the Church World Service (CWS) CROP Walk on Sunday, October 14. Members from over 2,000 communities, including ours, will raise money and either walk (or rock in rocking chairs!) to fight hunger both internationally and locally. You can participate in several ways:
• sign up, gather sponsors, and walk the new 5K route (no more 10K!)
• sponsor others who walk
• bring non-perishable food, deodorant, soap, toothbrushes, or toilet paper to church
• donate online — it’s easy! Go to www.crophungerwalk.org/lansingmi and securely donate to a walker registered under the UUMC Team Page.
This year, walkers will also get to assemble hygiene kits after the walk for CWS to distribute to needy families. Stop by the CROP table to sign up, sponsor, or just get information on this annual event and the importance of the CWS mission both globally and in the Greater Lansing area. There will be a special offering envelope in this Sunday’s bulletin.
