The UUMC Mission Committee is sponsoring an ongoing collection for household supplies to assist St. Vincent Charities in their efforts to provide for Afghan families in their resettlement into the Lansing area. These items are needed and will be used as essentials as the families settle into their new apartment or housing unit.

Collection boxes have been placed in the Gathering Space where your donated items can be deposited each Sunday morning.  A recent list of the most needed supplies has been provided by STVCC:

• Bath towel sets
• Pillows (new)
• Twin sheets (new)
• Kitchen towels / Pot holders
• Shower curtains / rings
• Paper towels
• Plungers (new)
• Toilet brushes (new)
• Brooms / Mops (new)
• Bar soap / Body wash
• Deodorant
• Toothpaste / brushes
• Body lotion
• Silverware (forks & spoons)
• Drinking glasses 
• Pots & Pans
• Baking dishes
• Mixing bowls

For those wishing to make a financial contribution – it can be shared by making an offering on Sunday mornings by using the envelopes in the pews, using the Venmo app on your phone (@UUMCDonation) or by sending a check to the church office (1120 S. Harrison Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823). Please be sure to note the donation is for the “STVCC Refugee Fund.”
