Afghan Refugee Service

UUMC Mission Committee
April 12, 2022

The UUMC Mission Committee extends their appreciation for your support as we have collected funds to assist with the placement of Afghan refugees into the greater Lansing community. Through your generous contributions we have been able to provide St. Vincent’s with a monthly allotment of $1000 worth of MEIJER gift cards to be used by the Afghan families to purchase personal need items.

We wish to continue our support of STVCC and their refugee services program by expanding our efforts here at UUMC.  Here are three ways you can assist STVCC as they serve the families from Afghanistan:

#1. – AMAZON WISH LIST –  This website allows you to purchase specific items online from Amazon that will be shipped directly to STVCC.

#2. – WALMART WISH LIST – This website allows you to purchase specific items online from Wal-Mart that will be shipped directly to STVCC.

#3. – A direct donation to UUMC.  Your check can be made out to UUMC and earmarked for the Mission Committee – Refugee Service Fund.

We appreciate your continued support of these refugees in their time of need.  As always, thank you for your concern … your care … your compassion.

At University United Methodist Church, we affirm that as disciples of Jesus Christ, we are an open and inclusive congregation and welcome all persons into full participation regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic situation, age, ability, education, background and whether single or partnered.
