The Hate U Give is a young adult novel, now a movie, by Angie Thomas. It follows events in the life of a black 16-year-old girl, Starr Carter, who is drawn to activism after she witnesses the police shooting of a childhood friend. Church and Society is sponsoring a screening of the movie, The Hate U Give at Celebration Cinema this Saturday, December 15 at 10:30 a.m. The movie is free, and there will be a conversation afterwards discussing the themes of the movie.
